Day 4 – The Final Countdown

We have had a brilliantly fun packed last day here at Stubbington!

Firstly, we had a look at our ‘Mammal Hotels’ to see what animals we had found. We found 2 Long Tailed Field Mice that looked very cute and happy to spend the morning with us. We learnt about the different species of mice and were able to measure and weigh them to identify them further. We called our mice Bruce and Chum and we were sad when we had to release them back into the nature around us.

In the afternoon, we learnt about the different tress that surround us here at Stubbington and learnt about why they are important for us and the surrounding area in which they grow. This was lucky as a lady (Miss Frost) from the local council came to see what trees needed cutting down and we had to tell her why tress are important; we all did very well.

After dinner we prepared an animal print trap and we used a mixture of oil and charcoal to see what prints we might see tomorrow morning. We hope we can see some!

Last but not least, we all participated in ‘The S Factor’ which was where we had to be in our houses and sing our team song which was really good fun. All of us joined in and we were proud to represent our houses and Joseph Hood. Our teachers were really proud of us. Kestrels were victorious but it was a very close final! We are now in bed and ready for our last day but we are also really looking forward to coming back home and seeing our friends and families again. See you all tomorrow!
